Former South Korean Premier Faces Further Interrogation

(MENAFN) Former South Korean Prime Minister Han Duck-soo appeared for the third time on Friday before legal authorities for interrogation regarding his suspected involvement in ex-President Yoon Suk Yeol's unsuccessful attempt in December to enforce martial law.

Following the session, prosecutors are anticipated to determine whether to file for an arrest warrant for Han, according to a news agency.

He underwent approximately 16 hours of questioning on Tuesday.

Han is alleged to have taken part in, or at minimum facilitated, Yoon’s efforts to announce martial law.

The special investigator also charges Han with collaborating in both the composition and elimination of an amended version of the martial law order.

While giving evidence before the National Assembly in February, Han stated he was unaware of the decree until it was rescinded during a Cabinet session on Dec. 4, and only afterward realized “a copy of the decree was in his back pocket.”

Nevertheless, the prosecution reportedly acquired security footage from the presidential office, capturing Han examining the martial law paperwork.

On Tuesday, Han also acknowledged to prosecutors that “Yoon had personally handed him the document.”
